Third year (S6) — housing project

1.2.3 Collective Housing

A project to create 123 collective housing units in the south of the city of Nancy, on the urban island imagined during the urban project of the previous semester (cf. project N°01). This continuous, folded strip housing offers a wide variety of apartment types, on the ground floor, current floor and penthouse, with extensive work on the relationship between exterior and interior, public and private. Its facade in movable polycarbonate panels, its numerous collective spaces and its relationship to nature offer a good quality of life, while offering a building that integrates from a landscaped and visual point of view with the entire neighborhood.

Plot composition

On the urban island created in the previous semester, the project was to design a collective housing building while reflecting on the quality of life offered by the project, the orientation, the surroundings... Starting from a reference project as the basis of our reflection (cf. project N°04).

Apartment typologies

Emphasis was also placed on coming up with new designs of a variety of apartment types in order to offer a diversity of possibilities to accommodate couples, families or even students. For example with gardens or conservatories, a simplex or duplex, and going from 1 room (+ kitchen + sanitary) to 4 rooms apartments.
